The Indian Navy has deployed a series of warships, including aircraft carriers and submarines, to the northern Arabian Sea to deter and "force Pakistan to be on the defensive".
"The Indian Navy is forward deployed in the northern Arabian Sea on a state of deterrence and interdiction, fully operational and capable of striking designated targets at sea and on land, forcing Pakistan's naval and air force units to be on the defensive in their ports or very close to shore," the Indian Navy said on May 11.
The statement came as India deployed an aircraft carrier strike group, comprising surface ships, submarines and carrier-based fighters, to the northern Arabian Sea, bordering Pakistan, without revealing the name of the main warship.
The Pakistani military said its navy was tracking the aircraft carrier INS Vikrant in the northern Arabian Sea.
